Ascension

An abstract sculpture of a ball like form that uncurls and extends towards the sky with craggy exterior and a smooth interior surface. Build from earthenware clay combining slump mold, slabs and coil techniques in construction. The texture was pressed into the surface. The piece was then bisque fired and then coloured with underglaze and black matt glaze before firing again.
